Compensation
Unfortunately, Tiyah Development Centre is not in a position to fund volunteers in any way. Any individual with a wish to work with Tiyah DC should be prepared to pay for the full trip and all other expenses associated with the traveling abroad . At the end of a successful period of volunteer work however, a letter of recommendation will be written.
Accomodation
Host families will be made available for volunteers, for those who want the full experience of living in an African family. Guest houses will also be available for those who like to have a bit more privay from time to time.
During volunteering for Tiyah, volunteers are free to travel as much as they want, to see the country. Volunteers will be picked up from the airport. Depending on the time of arrival, they will be brought to a hotel in Accra or Kumasi, for a week of orientation and familiasation. After this week, they will go to their centres to start working.
